Chulia Street

Chulia Street

Lebuh Chulia are usually really really crowded, especially around 11p.m. Lebuh Chulia located is between Lorong Love (Love Lane) on the west and Lorong Sechchuan on the east. Lebuh Chulia are known by locals and also backpackers. The whole street are full with varieties of hawker stalls and fresh fruit juice or local beverage (although that whole street isn't that long). That lorong (lane) are lined with local great street food, so you may not want to make your choice too quickly!

Wan Tan Mee
Wan Tan Mee can be soup based or dry, but I personally prefer the dry Wan Tan Mee the most. The dry Wan Tan Mee comes with thin egg noodles, dark and light soya sos, Char Xiu (marinated pork) slices and also fried wanton (dumplings). For some that do really love Wan Tan Mee should try the bigger portion, that are truly worthy for RM5 !

Price: RM3.80 - RM5.00

Presentation are so- so, but the quality are there!

Curry Mee
This stall Curry Mee is also well known for their creamy curry soup based! Fresh coconut milk, pigs blood jelly (it may sound disgusting, but believe me, you will fall in love with it!!), cockles, sotong (cuttlefish), tau pok (fried tofu) and also a medium size homemade fish ball, this are all the that one bowl of Curry Mee. The slightly sweet and creamy coconut milk is flavoured with a blend of aromatic spices. Expect a queue as the curry mee are really popular, of course if it take too long, you may need to remind the aunty ones again.

Price: RM3.80 - RM5.00

 Hainanese Satay

The Hainanese Satay is usually only known for the locals. There are not much of backpackers aware of the tiny hawker stall. As we talk about satay! The first thing that comes in our mind is chicken meat satay, BUT this what so special about this Hainanese Satay uses PORK! The Pork are marinated first, then skewered on a bamboo stick and grilled. Why it is so tasty? It is because the owner uses charcoal to grilled till it is done. The sauce is the best in town !! It is a different type of sauce that you can't get it anywhere else! Sweet potato sauce and peanut sauce are served without chilly. DEFINITELY 5 star rated!!!

Price: RM1.50

Apom
Apom is also known as a pancake. Apom uses very simple ingredients such as, flour, water, eggs and also some sugar. Apom are then place in small woks and covered up until the colour turn light brown, few woks might be needed. The Apom size are just as big as a hand palm. People usually buy half a dozen. Given 4 stars because I was expecting it to be more crispy.

Price: RM0.80 (per piece)

Kuey Teow Soup
The Kuey Teow Soup to me is a so-so here, but there are still numbers of people that queue up. So, maybe you should give it a try if you are a big fans of Kuey Teow Soup. A bowl of Kuey Teow Soup puts together clear pork stock, noodles, and an array of garnishes - mincemeat, fish balls, toasted garlic, and slices of meat.

Price: RM3.80 - RM5.00

Besides that, there are more food, such as, Lok Lok, Loh-Bak, Fried Chicken, Chinese dumpling (Bak Zhang) and even more! Please do visit Chulia Street, you won’t regret !!
